I'm in Heaven is about a man who doesn't believe in God who dies and
goes to heaven. It will spoil it for you if I tell you any more.
Besides, those wonderful people at Amazon allow you to read a few pages
before purchase, so if you're unsure about it you have nothing to lose
by doing this except a few minutes of your time. The only other thing I
will tell you about it is that it is far from being the heaven that many
people believe it to be - all sweetness and light and lazing about on a
white cloud with angels playing harps - but something far, far
different. Oh, and Sir Michael Caine is in it. And Robert de Niro. And
The Beatles. And Jehovah's Witnesses don't like it at all.

India Sommers is a librarian with a passion for history, so when a
stranger offers her an ancient but obviously fake coin, she thinks no
more about it. That is, until he is murdered outside the very library
she works in.
It soon becomes apparent that there is far more to
this than meets the eye and she is quickly recruited by Brandon Walker, a
special service officer, investigating the disappearance of a very
special young girl.
As the facts unravel, they realise that an
ancient artifact that has been missing for thousands of years may hold
the key and Brandon draws on India's vast historical knowledge,
unravelling clues that date right back through history to the time of
the great flood.
Slowly, the full horror and mind blowing truth
of what they have discovered becomes clear and they become involved in a

FREE -- US & UK Kindle Edition -- A Day at the Ballpark, and Other Stories (Harvard Perspectives in Fiction) by Steve Holt
Seldom does a thin little first book of fiction provide so much reward
while fueling such great anticipation. Steve Holt's short stories
illuminate the struggles of men and boys to face and to cope with
depression, abandonment, and deceit. With spare language and a sure
narrative touch reminiscent of Richard Ford's stories, his navigation of
the timeless and sometimes self-destructive preoccupations of his male
characters evokes power, pathos, and rich humor. Against the backdrop of
these coming-of-age stories, the tantalizing excerpt which Holt shares
from his forthcoming novel Realworld.com is a startling change in style
and form, one which will keep readers turning the pages and asking for
more.
Steve Holt depicts a boy's first flight from his troubled
family in two coming-of-age stories, Outside and Ballpark, relies on a
few pages of spare dialogue to tell a haunting tale of marital deceit in
Checkup, and provides a tantalizing first look at his forthcoming
novel.

FREE -- US & UK Kindle Edition -- FLOSS (The Floss Series) by Monica Marie Jones
In the world we live in people are divided into three main social
classes...the upper class, the middle class and the lower class. In
Detroit and other cities like it, a fourth social class has emerged in
the minds of those who occupy it. Unlike the other classes, the fourth
is more of an active state of being. It is a verb. People in this class
act out and represent what it means. The fourth class is called FLOSS.
Friends
since childhood, Abel, Solomon, and Jabez strive to climb the social
ladder. Cousins Dionysus and Torah strive to climb that same ladder, but
they would much rather travel on the backs of men like Abel, Solomon
and Jabez. Tyse wants to climb that ladder as well in the company of men
like Abel, Solomon and Jabez while attracting women like Torah and
Dionysus.
When the worlds of these six socialites collide and
become intertwined the outcome is scandalous. Will the controversies
that they encounter be worth the cost that it takes to FLOSS?

FREE -- US & UK Kindle Edition -- Finally Home-Lessons on Life from a Free-Spirited Dog by Elizabeth Parker
GET READY TO LAUGH...A LOT!
Not a training guide, but more of a
comical glimpse into the adventures of a naughty golden retriever
that didn't believe in following rules. The heartwarming, true story with
a happy ending.
Buddy, the golden retriever who touched the
lives of everybody he met, was an excessively mischievous dog that had
been shuffled from owner to owner since no one could control his crazy
behavior. He was on his way to meet his fate at the local shelter when a
mere coincidence connected him with his current owners. While he no
longer had to switch homes, the hilarious acts he committed, from
ingesting bottle caps to barging into a stranger's house, caused his
current owners to almost reconsider their decision.
Buddy was a
dog that no one wanted, yet he became one of the quirkiest, friendliest,
smartest and most cherished of dogs. The reader is not only drawn into
the book, but learns from the unfortunate mistakes of others and how to
think outside of the proverbial box. It gives the reader hope that if
they are going through a similar ordeal, they can also successfully
overcome any related obstacle.
If you are looking for a great gift for both dog lovers and even non-dog lovers, this book is perfect.

FREE -- US & UK Kindle Edition -- A Game of Proof (The trials of Sarah Newby) by Tim Vicary
A mother's worst nightmare - can her son be guilty of murder?
Sarah
Newby, who left school at 15, and was living as a teenage single parent
on an inner-city estate, has worked her way up to begin a career as a
criminal barrister. Then in a terrible irony her own son, Simon, is
arrested and charged with a series of brutal rapes and murders. The
evidence against him appears so strong that his QC advises a guilty
plea, but Simon swears he is innocent and begs his mother take on his
defense. There is no law against a mother representing her son, so Sarah
agrees. The only other obvious suspect for the murders, however, is a
man who has already been acquitted once - with Sarah acting as his
defense lawyer ...
Has Sarah, in her single-minded determination
to create a career for herself, neglected her son so much that she no
longer knows him? Since he has often lied to her in the past, how can
she trust him when he says he is innocent this time? And what should she
do when she herself uncovers evidence that seems to suggest his guilt?
It seems that telling the whole truth must be weighed in the balance against keeping certain information well hidden
